Woman's Missionary Union (WMU)

Our Woman's Missionary Union is a group of women throughout the association that work together to keep missions as a focus for our churches.  They are involved in local ministries such as the Fountain Correctional Center for Women in Rocky Mount.  They provide support through the Red Box Christmas project where they supply personal care items and host a Christmas Party for the nearly 583 inmates at a time that can often be bleak for the women serving time for crime.

2010-2011 Emphasis and Watchword(s)

"Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perserverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV)

NASH COUNTY WMU MEETING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 AT DORTCHES BAPTIST CHURCH BEGINNING AT 10:30 AM!

WMU NEWS!!!!

September 17th - WorldCraft Parties (yes there are two!)

Momeyer Baptist Church from 9 AM - 11 AM and Quankie Baptist (Rke. Rapids) from 1 PM - 3 PM

WorldCraft works to provide a source of income & HOPE to artisans in countries around the world.  These people sell their craft items to WorldCrafts and they are in turn offered for sale to us!  Plan ahead and buy Christmas gifts EARLY and provide much needed hope to those who had little hope until WorldCraft stepped in.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month...the WMU invites you to join them as they fill 'Baskets of Hope' for ladies who are leaving My Sister's House or Hannah's Place to live on their own.  Ask your church to fill a laundry basket with household goods!

Your church's Missions Director has received or will receive information on these projects.  If you have further questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Mary Ann Howell at 437-3659
